Over 60 years of passion for snowsports and a commitment to quality have created a much loved ski area at Coronet Peak, whilst a multi-million dollar makeover in recent years has elevated this mountain to true international status. The Meadows double chairlift has been replaced for 2010 by a high-speed quad, improving the learning experience for beginners and novices.
Just 20 minutes drive from central Queenstown, Coronet Peak’s has modern lifts and state-of-the-art snowmaking offering premium skiing and riding for all levels.
The day starts early at this sophisticated mountain resort with First Tracks from 8am and on weekends finishes late with Night Skiing on Fridays and Saturdays until 9pm. A stunning base lodge with superb facilities, magnificent views and a massive deck, Coronet Peak is the South Island’s favourite social winter venue.
 


 

The Remarkables

Perfect for beginners, youth and entire families, the north-facing slopes of The Remarkables are home to versatile terrain, fantastic learning facilities and fun for all ages.
The base building provides all facilities and is the ideal location for overseeing children on nearby learners’ slopes while enjoying refreshments on the sun deck.
Fun for the kids starts at the fully licensed Skiwiland Early Learning Centre, progressing to programmes for all ages and abilities from three months to 15 years. There are three terrain parks ranging from beginner to advanced, and a tubing park for fun without skis or board.
The 45 minute journey to The Remarkables is a breeze aboard the Green NZSki Snowline, free for all Remarks pass holders departing from the Snow Centre.

 

 

Cardrona

Cardrona Alpine Resort is fun and family friendly with something for everyone.  Located in the Cardrona Valley, just a short drive from Queenstown, Wanaka, or Arrowtown, Cardrona offers wide open runs with room for all snow lovers.  Runs are spread over three of the highest skiable basins in the area, ensuring great natural snow, enhanced by extensive snowmaking. 
With plenty of beginner and intermediate terrain and a highly qualified and experienced Ski & Snowboard School, it is the perfect place for learners to make the most of their holiday.  This summer, Cardrona has added a fourth chairlift, increasing the amount of intermediate and advanced terrain available.   
Cardrona also boasts leading children's facilities; Cardrona Kindys; specialist kids ski and snowboard school; world class terrain park and the only 22 foot half pipe in the Southern Hemisphere;  as well as five cafes and restaurants; on mountain apartments and much more.  




 

Treble Cone

A favourite with advanced skiers and snowboarders, Treble Cone is the South Island’s biggest ski area, offering good facilities for novices too. Varied terrain spans three large basins, off-piste powder skiing is considered unrivalled and to freeriders the mountain is one giant terrain park. 
This year learner skiers and snowboarders will benefit from free access to the lower mountain learner lifts including the Nice ‘n’ Easy Platter and Magic Carpet which are located beside the ski area base lodge.
Treble Cone’s investment in trail enhancement over the past five years means the ski area now has some of the best intermediate runs in the country to complement the unparalleled free riding terrain for which it’s renowned.



 

Snow Park NZ

New Zealand’s first freestyle terrain park, Snow Park embodies the culture of young freeriders and has earned an international reputation for innovative terrain. The terrain park offers a diverse range of primed features for all levels of riders and skiers.
Night skiing and riding opens up at Snow Park NZ available during the peak season on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
On-mountain accommodation at Snow Park Village includes four luxury apartments and backpacker-style facilities above the Woolshed Restaurant & Bar. This season, new, all-inclusive accommodation, meal and lift ticket packages are available.


 Snow Farm


Waiorau Snow Farm

New Zealand’s only Nordic ski area, Waiorau Snow Farm offers a great range of groomed trails and excellent skiing or skating in rolling hill country, complete with superb views of the Southern Alps. Situated across the Cardrona Valley and high in the Pisa Range, the ski area offers on-site accommodation at The Snow Farm Alpine Lodge, or The Bob Lee and Meadow Hut’s are accessible from the Snow Farm’s 55 km of Cross Country Ski Trails, manageable for a beginner skier.
